Davide Ciccarese

David Ciccarese, an Italian postdoctoral researcher, conducted research at MIT’s Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS) focusing on carbon sequestration in the ocean. Currently affiliated with the University of Lausanne, and the Swiss NCCR microbiome initiative, his studies now revolve around the soil microbiome. His research dives deep into exploring the relationship between microbiome organization across different scales and their profound influence on the major biogeochemical cycles on Earth. Alongside his academic work, he is also an award-winning author and passionate photographer of the microbiome.
