Matt Kaplan

Matt Kaplan has been a science correspondent at The Economist for two decades, with a particular fondness for overlooked species and how they quietly improve human life. His latest book is I Told You So! Scientists Who Were Ridiculed, Exiled and Imprisoned for Being Right. He is also the author of Science of the Magical and Science of Monsters, exploring how ancient cultures explained the natural world through myth. A Knight Fellow in 2014, he studied immunology at MIT and folklore at Harvard.
