Pankaj Joshi is a senior professor at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai. He specializes in gravitation and cosmology and is best known for his work on the collapse of massive stars, which might leave behind not a black hole but a so-called naked singularity. His other interests include Indian and Western classical music.
