Lisa Kaltenegger is an award-winning astrophysicist, founding director of the Carl Sagan Institute, and professor of astronomy at Cornell. She is a pioneer and world-leading expert in the search for life in the cosmos. She holds several international science prizes and awards for outstanding teaching. Asteroid 4377 Kaltenegger is named after her.
